The m3i platform consists of a number of components that interact with each other via m3iR within the MFD, these are:

• m3iR itself - the brains that does the work and brokers all the communications.
• UI Containers - an application that presents a user interface to the user.
• Connectors - external applications (usually on servers) that incorporate additional functionality (often from third-party systems) and data into m3i.
• Services - external (often hosted) services that m3iR can use to route scans.
